    2. Schw.Pz Jg.Abt 653 Soldbuch

My interest in Max was initially his participation in the events of 5/7/1943 and the fact he was a member of 2/ Schw. Pz Jg. 653.

With that anniversary coming up I''ll post his history......

I'm really loking forward to seeing some pictures of your '653' Kursk veteran's grouping, Steve! I recently picked up a Wehrpass to a Officer and Ferdinand commander in 4./s.Pz.-Jäg.Abt.653, was awarded the PAB25 and went on to become chief of the maintenance company after the Abteilung was outfitted with Jagdtigers Gotta' love those 653 IDs

Max was wounded 3 times....Once in the Crimea (1942) and twice in 1945 at Breslau.

The wound on 10/2/1945 ocurred while the 2k was retreating from the Soviet offensive by the 1st Ukanian Front.

His wound must have been significant as he was left in Breslau.

By the time he recovered Breslau was being encircled.

His last wound on 3/18/1945 (31a) kept him hospitalized until 26/4/1945.

Written by this entry is 17.40 uhr (hour) and something inlegible above it.

                              He died from his wound's
