100 Jager Division Wehrpass- units & dates don't line up

    100 Jager Division Wehrpass- units & dates don't line up

    A replacement wehrpass for a 100 Jager Div vet.

    On 29/9/42 he was wounded with the 9/227th. But on page 12 he is listed with gen. Inf Ers Btl II/482 , on that date. Clerical error or what? The battle pages are full but on page 33 , it looks like a glued in page is missing. Of course listing that time period.


    Also what is the next entry on page 34 , 25/11/42 ?

    The 29/4/44 entry looks like nervous disorder.

          Hi Lee -

          The page 34 entry from 25 Nov 42 is Gelbsucht, or jaundice.

          This soldier appears to have suffered from the Kriegsneurose, or what is now known in the DSM-IV as post-traumatic stress disorder.

                I think his wounding was in 1941 not 1942. Look at his service entries, they hop from 41 to 43. He spent a year convalescing and joined the newly forming 100 Jäger division in the Balkans.

                By the looks of it, he was very lucky as it appears he was fit for duty just too late to rejoin his doomed division at Stalingrad.

                  That is why I posted the question, what page is correct, 12 or 34? The ink is different on page 34 than the first 7 entries on page 12. So it must have been filled in at a different time.

                  The clerk probably had a pile to do since most of the wehrpasses would have been lost in the kessel.

                  Anyone else with an opinion?

                    You're forgetting pages 32 and 33. nothing is missing, the stuck in page has been moved. As is, it fits in with his service entries.

                    The only error here is the year of his wounding which should be 41.


                    what of his awards, he should have got a woundbadge at least?

                      When was the wehrpass re-issued? If February or March 1943 then it certainly fits in with the original being lost at Stalingrad and therefore the Spetember 1942 wound being correct. If there any notation of it being lost with 6. Armee as often found in these?

                      Based on the few scans here....I think the clerk has missed out all units from March 1942 - March 1943 probably by just transposing the years.

                      I think he was wounded or taken ill in December 1941 and rejoined his unit in March 1942...his unit in December 1941 was 15./ IR 227 and the clerk has been pretty thorough in changing the date on the printed sheet.

                      The wound in September 1942 is with 9./227 not 15. /227 (unfortunately doesn't say Infanterie or Jäger which would confirm this - 100. Leichte-Infanterie Division was renamed 100. Jägerdivision in July 1942). Similarly the replacment unit in November 1942 on page 34 is correctly called Jäger...the one on page 12 is still referred to as Infanterie in the 1943 entry which makes me think the 1943 should be 1942.

                      Still...that's a guess based on intuition on these scans. Have you any others? and who was the WP issued by (WK etc)? The first set of entries on page 12 look very familiar - I'm sure I had some second issue WP in the same hand, some of which were Stalingrad replacement books.

                              I have a group of documents that show a similar "fault" with dates and units, luckily for me I had the original Soldbuch, replacement Wehrpaß and Wehrstammbuch, however I needed all three to put the pieces together!!!
                              Both the Wehrpaß and Wehrstammbuch held no indication that he had been in Africa for two years and actually recorded he was with replacement units in Germany!! I will start a new thread on this later.

                              Also interestingly, I bought a Soldbuch last week to the same Division, he was wounded 8.8.1942 and served with Infanterie, later Jäger Rgt. 54.
