ID Tag LwPiBtl 1

For a few years I am owning an ID-tag of the LwPiBtl 1



First I thought it is from the LwPiBtl 72, but this unit never existed. So is it a faked item?

I got the tag as a present, I haven´t payed anything, so it is no loss if fake.

What are your opinions?

This unit existed indeed. It's Landwehr Pionier bataillon 72.
If you shall not need this tag I will gladly buy/trade it from you.

Hi!

It is no secret.

I will take a scan of the photo soon.

On the photo the man is an Obergefreiter, but I donßt know if this was his rank when he came to this unit.

I eber thought No. 1 should be the first tag given out of this unit, but I am in doubt that an Obergefreiter can be the number one.



I got some pics, a tent section, the dog-tag, a Rucksack and an Essgeschirr from the relatives.

That's actually what I wanted to check. Usually people take for granted that no 1 must have belonged to unit commander. I doubt if the guy on the picture ever commanded anything else than his pair of trousers.
Seems like a IWW vet still in service in late 30-ties.

Yes, I don´t think that he ever commanded. He endet the war as a stabsgefreiter so far as I know.

The Nr. 1 was my great problem, too.

Currently I am trying to get the permission of the relavites to ask for informations at the WASt. But I need the wrote permission of them otherwise they won´t send me any informations.
