I think you should show the work to re´enactors and living historians.
Showing it to collectors is like pointing with a loaded gun.
I´m a graphic designer my self and know that you have done alot of work on it.
I could give you help on how to make it even more "original" but i will not as i want to protect and secure our hobby here.

Use it in your portfolio when you look for work

    Cheers.

Well, I'm a serious collector and I don't feel threatened at all. I wish fakers would try and make WP's from scratch instead of runing period pieces with fake entries.

I agree with you there Gary.....

I notice some of the people that jumped down his throat never appear too often on the paperwork forum...so tell us what do you know about paperwork?!?!

As I said before to get the feel of a genuine document would be hard to do and there are plenty of ****ers that destroy a decent Soldbuch or Wehrpaß to get a few extra quid, dollars or whatever....if they made them from scratch we would all be laughing!

50 years or so down the line everyone will be collecting fakes anyway as there won't be anyone around to say whats good or not.......that is already happening in some fields today...just check some other threads on awards...they are argueing the toss what is right or wrong....someones right but who....who do you agree with...a moderator, your mate or someone that talks bollox

I also agree with Gary, having been caught out with a wehrpass with dodgy entries, which was discussed on this forum not that long ago, may those that are that way inclined, produce fake wehrpass and soldbuchs rather than deface otherwise decent examples.

          Cheers
          Ian

Im sure they have their place(a garbage bag would be a good start.)

I dont care what the guys intentions are with his pieces of art.I dont have any time for someone who makes fakes and shows me what a great job he,s doing.

I like this forum because of the more "purist feel",it has.I hope it stays that way.
Thanks for being on my side concerning this matter...

If it is a blatent piece of fakery then I will not stand for it, however Jon did not approach us in that manner.....he was pissed on straight away which in my opinion is no way to treat new members no matter who they are.

These I am sure will not feel good when compared to an original....there are more worse copies, fakes etc. in awards, uniforms etc.........have you seen the new term for awards...it is not fake but "non period award" ..what the **** does that mean

As I said earlier on study your art and become the best....know what there is to know....and with a bit of luck you won't get burned...I certainly did when I first started and the bastards are still around who burnt me, however they are known for being sellers of ****e and complete wankers......

I unfortunately have come across people in the past who add awards to original Soldbücher or Wehrpässen......I am not going to name names as I am sure they have learned their lesson but the whistle will start blowing if I see them at it again!

So fakers can **** off in my opinion .....re-enactors I must admit I am not so keen on being ex army, however they make their uniforms, paperwork etc. as near damn it as original as possible.....It was one of these re-enactors Soldbuchs that I mentioned above being sold on ebay as real.........

Jon appears to want to create an example and get it as near right as possible, however if he starts selling them as real with entries (should be easy to spot) then he deserves a kick up the arse

              Anyway thats all my input.......

Yes i agree with you ian, i have stamped the lettering (REPO) on my work. its in in clear read on the back and inside. I am going to be asking my mate to do this because i agree with what you said. I have seen colectors adding photos ect in a soldbuch, wehrpass. I have never come a across a fake wehrpass/soldbuch before. I have my own REAL wehrpass and i have a fake P.O.W pass. i have to get going but people who destroy heros of war identy may not be in the history of wehrpass/soldbuch.

                do u agree

                best regards

                Jon.

                  Just A Thought.

I've got my own views on copying these things, & on whether people new to the hobby deserve to get ripped off (& there's me literally just looked at 5 Wherpasses on a linked site & considering buying all 5 - my first ones ever - are you guys trying to scare me off?). I have enough reason not to want repros on the market, though I've never been stung for more than a few quid over the years, at least I hope not.
Steering clear of those subjects I was just wondering - Jon's profile shows him as a 15 yrs old scholar, Richards initial message consisted of a row of frownies & thumbs downies with the "no way to go through life son" quote. I like the quote, but maybe Jon didn't realise that this line appears at the end of all Richard's posts & wasn't aimed specifically at him.
Not criticising anyone, (& just look at some other posts & you'll see that I can get right up people's noses), but perhaps wires got accidentally crossed here a couple of times?
Just a thought, no dog dirt through the post please chaps.

When you look at my work does it look fake?

I think it does, But as i said it has the stamp repo on the back

                      best regards

                      Jon.

Jon9 - your work is paying off in the means that you are learning something

now as we tend to see the marked regarding our collectiv form is being outgunned by fakes and repros - if your wehrpass only has a stamp on the back it could be easly ripped off "wartime dammaged"... If you can, this is only a sugesstion - include a watermark into each paper stating reproduction or alike.

                        just a idear.

the paper i am using is water marked paper. I buy this stuff at near by art shops or i use my own method which i keep to myself. The paper is so cheap to buy. it like as thin as cheap wraping paper. i also know the old printing methods which i use in my work. My work is set to a high standed but as i said its 98% like the real thing. my opition is but, i still belive it still looks like a repoduction.

                          best regards

                          Jon.

                          thanks for you opition
