After recovering, Puppe took part in the rebuild of the division in Norway and ended the war there.

He must have been one of the last to be air lifted out!?!?!!?!? Are there any entries to reflect this on page 12-13?

A wonderful Soldbuch and Wehrpass set to a true Stalingrad veteran.

                          I'm very impressed.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

                            Hello Ian

Nothing specific about being flown out, Stalingrad, bei der Truppe geblieben usw.

However, this piece of paper from the Reservelazerett Meschede from 30. March 1943. It just says that he was wounded in Stalingrad (underlined). I think it shows the importance of Puppe being wounded in Stalingrad and one of the last flown out.

Flughafen Pitomnik was captured on 16.1.1943. Was this the last airport in German hands. Who can tell me when Gumrak fell?

Very nice. After the loss of Pitomnik, the main airfield was Gumrak. The last landings at Gumrak were on January 21, 1943. After that, there were a few landings at Stalingradski, a landing strip of very poor quality. Stalingradski was lost on January 23.
