    Soldbuch - 23 Pz , 22 LL, 21 Pz Div

    Hello,

Here is a battered soldbuch to a man who served with Korps Pi Batl. 51 then becoming part of the 23 Pz Div in early 1942. He was in the hospital in March 42', too much water damage to read. He then transfered to Inf. Regt. 47 of the 22 Luftland Div. His was sent to Africa Oct. 42'. His regiment became part of the 21 Pz Div in Feb. 43'.

He was awarded the Ost Medal, German-Italian Medal, Iron Cross 2nd Class, Wound Badge in Black and finally the Africa Cuff Title in May of 43'. There is information written in pencil relating to his POW status on page 14. His last leave was in early 42'

                  Thanks for showing!

On page 21 it says "auf afrikanischem Boden gelandet" = landed on African soil.
To land is a word which is connected to airplanes. So I guess he went there
                  by airtransit.
