A question for the German speakers please

    Hi there,

When I go to Germany (3 to 4 times a year) I always go to every floh markt possible to hunt for Wehrpasse and Soldbucher. Im goin to Berlin on the 4th Nov for the 20 year annevesairy of the wall coming down on the 9th.

I will be hitting the flea markets big time which brings me on to my question.

How do I ask if the vendor has military paperwork?

I always say 'Haben Sie Soldbucher und Wehrpasse bitte? Which does the trick for those but I like so much more paperwork now so how do I ask more generally?

Also any bartering language tips from any seasoned German flea market hunters would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks guys Happy Hunting!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have built up a few 'friendly faces' at the flea markets who show me all the good bits. Most memorable is the guy who always sees me before I see him and gets my attention by shouting 'englishman' all over the flea market. Ha ha.

I also have good contacts in a little Military shop on Georgstrasse, just of Fridreichstrasse in Berlin. Had some great 'reserved bargains' from them.

There is always 'new faces' in the flea markets so I would like to know what to ask them for.

Im really looking forward to the 4th of Nov now!
      Thanks again Tommy.

Just ask: "Haben Sie etwas vom Krieg oder der Wehrmacht?"

When they notice you are not german, this might help to get thsi "hated" stuff.

            Hi

Have a look at a german military antique shop for example Helmut Weitze @ www.weitze.net and its all in german so you'll soon get used to the words for the paperwork that you're looking for. There are lots of these shops advertising in the various english language monthly military magazines.
