The most expensive SB: what's your opinion?

    Hello,

I don't like, for various reasons, to talk on the net about money related to militaria, but I'm just curious: what's the most expensive Soldbuch that you did buy in your life or that you are noticed of?

I'm noticed that von Gottberg SB with BKA entries went pretty high and that few years ago an SS-Karstwehr-Btl. SB with BKA and CCC entries, picture and more than 60 bandenkampftage list was sold for around 3500 euros if I've been told right.

    Best Regards

What did Hasso von Manteuffel's Soldbuch sell for? Wasn't that in the 20,000 - 30,000 range?

Don't quote me on it because I don't remember the actual price..... I just know it was ridiculously expensive.

I believe that the Manteuffel soldbuch was being sold for 50,000 Euro on Andre Huesken's site a while back. I remember the price as a member on another forum sent me a link to it a while back. It isn't listed anymore so it looks like someone dug deep for it.

don't know how much it sold for, but this is a page from the IMM magazine of June/July 2007. Cheers, Torsten.

A Charlemagne SB you don't see it every day...what's the price you paid for, if I may ask Christof?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but why is "price" so important???

Most collectors, myself included, do not like to discuss "dollar amount" when it comes to collecting. This hobby is not about how much you spend, it's about the material and it's historical significance... Who cares how much someone spent for a Soldbuch, dagger, tunic or helmet.

                              Just my .02
