Heck, who needs Soldbuchs / Wehrpasses anyways...I'm getting waaaay bigger thrills out of my new hobby.......taking photographs of my Ego and Vanity !!!

Is it just me or does anyone else know what this guy is on about?

He alludes to 'those' but doesn't name any names and reading the thread (not discounting any deleted posts) fails to shine any light on the matter.

He gave the thumbs up to quite a number of clearly faked Auschwitz WPs and was very condescending about those that pointed out the obvious flaws. He is either very inexperienced or has other motives.

If you collect WPs (SS or otherwise) please don't take any advice from Hundestaffel - over the years he has quite clearly displayed his lack of knowledge in this arena. There are plenty of far more knowledgeable collectors on this forum and elsewhere...ask them rather than this self serving attention seeker.

As you know, I was the owner of one of those fake Auschwitz "Monowitz" WP's.

However, I think you are completely misguided with regards to Hundestaffel.

Hundestaffel was originally contacted regarding my fake Monowitz WP and asked if the then asking price was good, to which he gave his opinion that if genuine, it was. At no time did "H" ever see the entries in the said WP, or give this WP the thumbs up. Also, the time lapse between the first appearance of the WP and it coming to me was 2 years.

Now get this. Hundestaffel had nothing to do with the sale of this WP to me yet he graciously sent money to me to help cover my losses on the WP. This is something he didn't need to do but did anyway. Also, the person that he initially gave the opinion on price to also sent me money. Again, something he didn't need to do as I did not buy it directly from him. Incidentally, the German collector/dealer this WP actually originated from who should have been responsible for any refunds, promised he would refund me $100 or give a substantial reduction off the next Police ID I purchased from him. In the end, I received a $10 reduction!!!

Now, what does that say about Hundestaffel? Well, to me it shows that Hundestaffel is a person of enormous moral integrity.

Hundestaffel is extremely helpful and very often goes out of his way to assist other collectors, often without being asked.

You also refer to Hundestaffel's "inexperience." To be honest, I personally am in complete disagreement with you on that one. I for one believe he is the most experienced person with regards to the KZ system and it's documents and staff on this, or any other forum out there. His contacts in the KZ archive world alone are incredible and invaluable.

I would also disagree with you and actually URGE people to contact Hundestaffel for advice on KZ WP and SB, as I feel they will greatly benefit from his knowledge.

Hundestaffel will continue to be a great source of information and guidance to me and many other collectors in regards to KZ material.

As for this latest issue regarding award entries, Hundestaffel asked my permission to post a picture of the "Boczanski" award doc from my collection to highlight the fact that this high ranking signed doc could possibly have been entered in a WP in a similar way to other examples whose originality had been questioned by others.

I personally do not care if these "others" is one or two or a dozen, but I do care that he is trying to educate fellow collectors regarding these entries and I applaud and support him for doing that.

I agree with you g Hanson. I have the occasion sometime to appreciate the greatfull experience of Hundestaffel about KZ, and I think that ubout this difficult subject, he is the man. Soory for my poor "frenchy" english, but I think that everybody understand.

Many, many thankx for the kind words Graham and Christof. It is indeed humbling that such well respected, knowledgeable and honest collectors like yourselves (and others) with such outstanding collections consider my opinons and comments worthwhile and informative.

Graham, the first half or your post was especially "spot on" (as you Englishmen say !!) in regards to accuracy surrounding "past events", but obviously one person considers that whole thing "Rocket Science" and is totally beyond his mental capability to grasp. Graham, would it be possible for you to kindly translate / re-write what you wrote into "Baboon" ???

Hmmm...let me think......). I personally would love to see posted here on the WAF, my direct quotes in which Cardinal Hundestaffel himself gave his (many) personal blessings to all those numerous bad ID's.

Gary, I think were all getting a bit bored and tired of this little schoolground "he said, she said" squabble, but I will (unenthusiastically, I must admit) continue on with it if it's the only thing that brings excitment and satisfaction to your life. Your call.....

Anyways, gotta run - I'm late for my psychiatrist appointment.....I've got some major self serving attention issues to deal with !!!

If I remember well - that e-stand seller is Kaile67.

A promise is a promise but not for him.

There was also a thread on faking items himself.

I have no idea why he is still around here on WAF.

Unfortunately, everyone of us has purchased fakes at one time or another. My 2 fake KL Soldbuchs were of such high quality that several experts gave these high endorsements for several years. It was only after an original soldbuch turned up that had the original entries from which mine were copied, that the truth was known. I had purchased one of these about 6 years prior to it being exposed, so it took 6 years to change experts views on it.
