    What a pity!

    I just spotted this one,

    http://www.militaria321.com/auktion/...2E%2E%21%21%21

it look like he s wearing a grey AG wrapper,i was going to bid on it but i spotted then what i think is a fake EK1 entry

It would have been a perfect group!

It reduces the overall value but it doesn't make the rest fake. Better Skijäger Brigade\division 1 don't turn up often at all.

By the way, i've seen the same manner of signing the KVKI doc on other skijäger brigade docs from the time, ie. Hans von Schlebrügge was wounded in the arm making him unable to sign his name properly.

Heh... It would have been nice if you didn't out the auction for those of us patiently and quietly watching it

Yes, the EKI entry looks to be bad, but as Simon has pointed out it's still a nice SB and grouping with a unit entry that you don't see all that often. Impossible to tell for sure from the pictures posted in the auction, but the photo appears to be original to the Soldbuch, but it looks as though someone (probably the family?) tried to remove it! My guess is that they first removed the staples only to find that the photo was glued to the inside front cover.

The bogus EKI entry does raise concerns about whether or not the photo is in fact original. I'm (still) waiting for better scans, but from what I can see here it looks like it "may" just be OK.

I think the photo is original. Most wouldn't know the 1 Skijäger Brigade were issued sturmartillerie uniforms and the rank, waffenfarbe (GJ green) and what decorations are visible are right.

It's either been around for a while, someone bought it and sent it back or I have seen it on another auction site.

However the EK I does raise concern of course.......

The photo looks fine to me and wouldn't suprise me if it is stamped up for the Schirmmeisterschule. I have a couple like this...not Ski Jäger however.......only got one of those , but Schirmmeister who wore grey or black wraps then posted to another unit......

                /Ian

I'm wondering what makes you fellows think the EK entry is a fake? What stands out to you about it?

I dont see anything wrong with it since i'm still novice at the soldbuchs.

It looks to be squeezed in above the KVKI entry, it's dated 9 months after his KVKI, his other docs are present yet no EKI, Earning both the EKI and KVKI is really quite rare, not impossible by any means but it's far less likely.

                        Thanks Simon!

I didnt know that earning both KVK1 and EK1 was rare. It makes more sense now.
