                      Thanks ! When I will got the time I will scan a "Das Reich" one and a "Nordland" one (I post my unique "Wiking" on the thread concerning Panzer crew). But what are doing the other members of the WAF ???

                        This book belong to SS Schutze Artur Maresch.Born in Nurnberg on 8/6/24.
                        At 18yrs old he enter the LAH as a member of the 5. Schtz.- Ers.Kp. on 16/10/42 training at Berlin-Lichterfeld

                        2/11/42 he is issued his Uniform kit and equipment.Training continues through December.
                        1/1/43 his equipment is checked again and given 2 blankets.

                        Artur is transferred to 6.II/ SS Pz Gren.Regt.1. After several weeks traveling by train, II/SS Pz. Gren Regt.1 arrives at Tschugujew southeast of Kharkov on 31/1/43.

                        For the next 3 weeks the regiment is involved in defensive actions slowly being pushed west by elements of the Soviet 6th army.

                        On 2/19/43 the Soviets exploit a gap between 320 Inf.Division and the SS Pz Gren Regt 1. at the town of Borki.Defensive fighting rages throughout the 20th.Late in the afternoon II/SS Pz Gren. Regt 1 launches a counter attack under Sturmbannfuhrer Max Hansen to push back the soviet breakthroughs to the villages of Podgopai & Klijutschewodsk

                        Artur is KIA during the attack on the Klijutschewodsk.

                        The soldbuch on page 3 is signed by 6.Kp Fuhrer Hauptsturmfuhrer Weiher
                        FP#11150.
