I really love this thread.. I am living near to 's-Hertogenbosch so i was very suprised to see a soldbuch from a German soldier that fought in 's-Hertogenbosch (page 5 or 6 from this thread i believe) I have also a very nice item but it is an allied piece. My grand father has made a belt with all insignia and emblems from all liberators from Rosmalen (village near 's-Hertogenbosch) If there is any interest i will take some pictures and add it to this thread.

Keep up the good work guys!

Please post a photo of it, sounds like a nice belt!

Here also a Luftschutz soldbuch from Boxtel.
The guy started of great, even got promoted.. but he got crazy after a bombing raid and eventually was released from luftschutz service.
He wrote allot of strange things in his Luftschutz-Soldbuch.

Some things he wrote in it himself (which was forbidden!):

"Inhause wurde herum gesoffen in privathauser"
Meaning: inside private homes there is constant excessively drinking.

"Aber haupsache, ich habe Holland gesehen!"
Meaning: but main thing is, i have seen Holland!

Below that he wrote the following: Children-shoe-manners were executed on a 56 years old man which can not be described more mockingly.
With each unit I breathed through artificial inhalation various virtues from home.

And below that he wrote: He who digs a hole for someone else, falls in it himself! but that is where you belong anyway. quicker as me!
The text ends with him signing: The scapegoat, Haslauer M.
Below that he wrote "Kiekerken hat recht!" ; Kiekerken was right!
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

The pictures aren't to great but it will show how the belt is made by my grandfather. I know it's not a soldbuch or any paper stuff but it is also something that got to do with the liberation of Holland in 1944. Hope you like it

          Cheers

Good to see that this tread came alive again and others are joining.
Floris, that's amazing you found another deathcard from Michael Wieland.

Very nice contributions Rick, Senders and Patrick

Rick do you know if Willi Fries fought in Holland in 1944? Did he wrote something in his letters?
Senders i love the belt. I see some known units on it.
Patrick, very nice. Did he fought in Holland as well or did he joined later?

Here a small contribution from a lw soldiers soldbuch who fought in my living place on 17 september 1944. The day that operation Market Garden started. The soldbuch belongs to Alfons Langendorf who was in Lw Jag Bat. ZbV6. This unit was part of kampfgruppe Walther.

He has a very nice nahkampftag entry. Well for me for sure

              Regards

                  Hi Erwin,

Nice to see the Langendorf Soldbuch again, now in this thread.

We talked about that Soldbuch a long time ago.

                  yours friendly

Thanks Patrick, Floris and Eric Jan

It is one of my favourite beside the other 2 passes from this unit. All 3 fought in Valkenswaard on 17 september 1944. One has also a nahkampftag entry from this day. The other one has 3 nahkamptage entries from his time in Italy just before MG started.

In one of the other there is 2 times the signature from Alfons Langendorf. He was the units weapon specialist.

A special thanks to Floris to give me the oppertunity to take over one off the other passes and Jim (PzV) for the other group

                    regards

                    Erwin

                      Senders, great belt!
Erwin, your Soldbuch is very interesting with the Nahkampf entry for Valkenswaard, they are pretty rare, especially for MG.
Patrick, well what could be said more about that great SS Soldbuch? Great Soldbuch and love to see the relation with 1945: SS Grenadier-Regiment 83.
