    Vittersee

Anyone know the meaning of "Vittersee" ?? Maybe the German name for one of the seas around Europe. I have a Heer type dog tag that says KDTR. (E) VITTERSEE. The only meaning I have found listed for the (E) is marine (coast?)artillery, replacement troops. So it sounds like a KM tag, but it is the standard Heer size, 3 holes and 3 slots. Very confusing !

I have a tag from the same unit.

As I have found out this is from the commander troop at the airfield force at Lake Vitter in Poland.

    KDTR. (commander troop)
    (E) (Airfield force ?)
VITTERSEE (Lake Vitter, also spelled "Vitter see")

Mine was bought at at antique store in Norway in a lot of 7 from same troop.

Rügenwalde is the German name for the Polish town "Królewskie Miasto Darłowo", International name is "Darlowo".

In other words: Lake Vitter is in Poland

That is the opinion of some people...

Pomerania is appropriate unlawfully occupied by the Polish state.

The german Ex-chancellor (Dr. Helmut Kohl) don`t have the permission of millions of german refugees to give german land to the polish state.

His "trade" is against the law of nations.

          Best regards, Fronti

              Well,
I usually pass by this kind of posts, but I guess Fronti, your post shouldn't be left without a comment. Looks like you are so keen on collecting ID tags. Well so am I. But it also seems that you haven't learn much out of it. During II WW our grandfathers were fighting against each other and both countries suffered much. It's out of question who started and who should pay the bill. Primary school history book is enough to learn it.
I'm getting really pissed off when hearing such a comments from fellow collectors. Actually people who are fortunate to touch the history and follow all the dramatic fates of the people who struggled and often lost their life. Looks like collecting dog tags of our ancestors is not enough. Looks like some of us want also to collect ID tags of our children.
              You should be really ashamed.
