    Hello

You need not wonder what happened to him at the end of the war because it says it right in the soldbuch the 31 G 798330 is his American POW number so that is an amazing discovery to actually have his paper work and disprove him being listed as MIA.

          Hi Curtiss,

You did not recognise this as his PoW number? There is a seperate thread listing these from different theatres of operation.
Also my friend says the group arrived safely

          /Ian

IMO no need to pay much money for others documents for re-uniting for they are not full. If full, it deserves! So i think his SB is worthy for collection becasue all entries there!
I don't know how much the SB of RK DK holder is in the market.
I would like to know if you can PM me.

An old thread but, amazing soldbuch.
The elements of the 276th VGD (a Kampfgruppe back then) were attached to the 326th VGD in early February 1945. It was heavily engaged with the 4th US Infantry Division just short for the town of Prüm in the Eifel.
For instance the villages of Brandscheid, Sellerich, Niedermehlen, Steinmehlen were defended in early February by these two Kampfgruppe, when they were lost several counterattacks were made and many German prisoners were made also. Perhaps your Hauptmann was one of them.

                    Kind regards,

                    Nick

It'll be interesting to see if this "re-unification" now happens.
