                This was the wehrpass recently sold on the Collector's Guild, correct? Interesting subject matter. Unfortunately I don't have enough experience with SS wehrpaesse to opine on its genuineness.

                      Yes, very interesting career, because he was only a little "Matrose".

                      I think there was someone who helped him, may be a relative or good friend in a higher ss Rank.

                        Almost NOTHING if they were not capured by the russians. After a short and laughable "Entnazifizierung" they had no more problems.

                        When I was a young boy our old neighbour told me that he was serving in "Oradour-sur-Glane" for SS-Division "Das Reich" as a young soldier.

                        When he came back after 8 years in russia/sibiria he got big eyes when he saw his "new" boss in a factory in Berlin. It was one of his former high officers and responsible for some dark doings in Oradour.

                        I know a lot of these stories and a lot of war criminals never had real problems with justice ... only with their memories. Hopefully...
