    My first Soldbuch!

    Hello, all.....
    I received this Soldbuch (my first) this week, and I'm fascinated by holding this living history in my hands. The soldier's name appears to be Alfred Fegert. Since I'm a total neophyte when it comes to documents, I'd be grateful for a bit of help, researching this.
    Can someone who has access to these types of records, tell me something about this man, or even point me to a place where I might do the research? I have scans of the rest of the pages, if needed.

    It s a clear honest soldbuch of a Soldier enlisted in september 39 during the polish campaign and assigned first to the 78 Infanterie division which took part in the campaign in france and later Russia.In late 44 if im not wrong he passed in the 326 Grenadier regiment which is part of the 198 Infanterie Division reformed in southern france and fought the last months of the war in the west!
    I think i can read he got the Wound badge in black and silber...?

    the Soldier is in the grave list and died in august 45! 3 months after the war finished probably from wounds he receive sometimes during the war!

    Alfred Fegert is buried in the german war cemetary in Mont-de-Huisnes (France) .

          I do not see any awards mentioned in the Soldbuch....unfortunately it would appear that page 21-22 which would hold the awards (if he had any!) is missing.

          As Daniel pointed out, his last unit, Grenadier Regiment 326 was part of 198 Infanterie Division and was fighting in the west at the end of the war.

          The Feldpost number written on page 4 corresponds with:

          FP Nr. 03084: 5 Kompanie, Grenadier Regiment 326.

          On page 21 there is the entry that he received discharge pay (Entlassungsgeld) on 3.10.1942, indicating that he was discharged from the Army and looks like recalled in 1944! No doubt in September of 1944 when his dog tag was changed (Erk.Mark. on page 3 which indicates a change to page 1!)

            Are There Any War Wounds Listed On Page 12?
            If Not Perhaps he Died From Conditions In the Allied PoW Camp.
            This Was Not Uncommon.

              Yes, that page is missing, along with 7-8. Had I been aware of this, I might have thought differently about buying it, but since it's my first, I think I'll hang onto it for a bit...
              I want to thank all who responded with information. It's nice to know something about the soldier behind the papers....This is the history that I love, and I'm sure that I'll be obtaining more of these in the future (if anyone's listening, and has any to sell....)

                I have to start paying more attention....
                When i seen the leaves page next i instictively thought the one on the left was the page of the awards and with my bad(none) german i thought i could read(really bad) the 2 WB....
