    New Gehmeim Feldpolizei Wehrpass

I just picked this up today.

Oberschrimmeister Pilkenroth Served with artillery units during the Polish and French campaign then served a month with the Gruppe Geheime Feldpolizei 633...probably as a driver.

I don't quite like the entry though.

I am interested in hearing your opinions.

GFP 633 was in Wehrkreis XI (Hannover - Braunschweig area) in February 1941 and that kind of ties in with the entry above it and the Hannover entries on the same page.

      Hi Larry,

And in Freiwilliger Arbeitsdienst he was given the right to wearing the Arbeitsdanknadel.

I have heard of the stickpin, but is it rare?

I have seen that entry before on this type of Ausweis but not very often.

A quick Google search brings up this!

I don't know now, Ian. Your information puts a different complexion on things. My first card entry for 633 (aside from Tessin) is a move to the Orleans area in spring 1942. I have nothing between its origin in Wehrkreis XI and spring 1942. As you know, a GFP Gruppe was a territorial formation subordinate of a Heeresgruppe, Armeeoberkommando or rückw.Gebiet and usually set up operating detachments that were attached to field commands of the Heer (Army), i.e., Armeekorps. So we could probably interpret the 633 situation either way: (1) it moved en masse through Luxembourg into France with the invasion in May 1940, or, (2) only part of it did, the rest of it only joining later, perhaps two years later.
