    Pilot Training License ?

If someone could please help me to identify exactly what this is and an approximate value I would appreciate it. I need to put on eStand and have no idea what it worth.

    Thanks

It's a personal identification card for the guy pictured stating that he is a student member of the Deutsche Verkehrsfliegerschule GmbH (German Civil Flying School, Inc.) at Stettin and is authorized to wear the uniform of an Oberflieger.

Abbreviated D.V.S., it was established 1 April 1925 at Berlin-Staaken and co-funded by the Reich and Deutsche Lufthansa. It was a “cover” for the training of pilots and observers who later in 1933 and after were taken into the Luftwaffe. The Director of D.V.S. was World War I flying ace Alfred Keller, who later became a general in the Luftwaffe. The Nebenstelle (branch) at Stettin-Altdamm belonged to the D.V.S. school at Warnemünde and both specialized in training naval aviators. Besides Warnemünde and Stettin, the other D.V.S. schools were at Schleißheim, Braunschweig and Würzburg.

As for value, I don’t know. D.V.S. trained thousands of pilots and observers between 1925 and 1935 and each one would have had one of these. But how many of them survived the war and are currently in circulation is unknown.

Thanks, Larry. Does anyone have an idea as to what a fair price might be?
