    Soldbucher from Historical-Media

    Hi All,
I wanted to know, why on http://historical-media.com/index.htm A lot of soldbucher have different dates example: 12.3.2004 in pencil on top of page one.
A lot of those soldbucher have a different Date on top of page one.
What is it?I know Rick White is a good guy,my question is not about doubting his items as they are genuine 100%(i bought from him and i was happy!!!)Just
i wonder what those dates(if they are dates) might be?

    Cheers

    Daniele-

I'm going to guess it is the date that the person Rick got them from purchased the Soldbücher. I have one that has the date "08.11.2003" in pencil on page one, and on one of the pieces of paperwork accompanying the Soldbuch, there is a notation "Erworben am 08.11.2003 beim Antiquitätenhändler in Hamburg."

Why in God's name anyone would write on 'any' period document when they acquired it is beyond me, but I believe that this could very well explain those dates.

Exactly that.....it is when the person bought them!

As long as it is in pencil it is not so bad, however I wouldn't do it pesonally....even when you attempt to rub it out you can leave a mark or even clean the page up or at worse rip the page!!!
