I would like to show you one of my few Heer Sb/Wp.
This one is a simple but interesting Sb of an Infanterie Geschutz unit's member, between the end of 1939 and August 1944. His history is "rich".
First, the man belong to Infanterie Regiment 205 of 52. I.D. He fight in Belgium and France in May 40 (Aisne-Yonne-Bourgogne). In 41, he move to eastern front where the 52. Infanterie Division fight with Heeresgruppe Mitte (Wilna – Minsk - Beresina - Moscow). In october - november 43, the division is destroyed. Then, the soldier join a supply I.G. unit in Germany.
Between end 43 and beginning of 44, he is transferred to the new 266. Infanterie Division who is formed in France, in Brittany. His heavy company, the 13.(IG)/Gren. Regt. 899, is then stationned in Morlaix sector.
In june and july, some parts of the division are sent to Normandy (Kamfgruppe Kentner). Some others are sent to Festung Saint Malo. But our man stay in Brittany with III./Gren. Regt. 899. In the beginning of August, the remains of 266. I.D., then named Kampfgruppe Spang, try to stop the US advance in Brittany (area of Morlaix) but are pushed back to Brest. Most of the troops are defeated and captured in Brest area, the 8-9-10 of August 44. Few succeed to enter in Festung Brest.
According to German Archivs (DD of Berlin), this man was captured the 10 of august.
