K.L. Mauthausen dogtag opinions.

I need some opinions about this dogtag. I have only this picture.
It is marked "780 Waffen-SS. SS-Stuba. KL Mauthausen. G".

The stamping doesn't look convincing to me.

It looks like the ones recovered in Austria some years ago on site of former camp branch. The Stammrollenummer is also matching those from the lot.
I have got one with number 725.
Warning! There are almost perfect fakes of these tags on the market. There are very slight differences in lettering. However I'm not able to verify this in this very case as the photo isn't really perfect.
I would say 97% OK.
The funny thing is the "selective" attempt of hiding the runes - whas that seller blind or what?

Just checked one more thing - a trace of pale yellow oxide spots on tag edge - these are almost exactly the same as on mine - as far as I remember the tags were recovered on a cable or rope that's why only a small part of surface was exposed to soil and oxidation.
I'm sure the tag is ok.

It was for sale on an auction.
I agree with you about the "selective" attempt of hiding the runes. Very strange as some runes are shown and some are "denazi".
