    I have a Totenkopf tag 11 /SS-T-.J.R.1, Can anyone tell me what the J.R is indicative of...thanks.

        SS-Totenkopf-Infanterie-Regiment 1

        Aufgestellt am 16. Oktober 1939 in Dachau aus Personal der Totenkopf-Standarten, die für die Bewachung der KZ´s zuständig waren. Das Regiment war der SS-Totenkopf-Division unterstellt und nahm an den Feldzügen gegen Belgien und Frankreich teil. Bei Beginn des Rußlandfeldzuges marschierte das Regiment in Nordrußland ein. Im Winter 1941/42 wurde nach schweren Verlusten das I. aufgelöst und durch das III./TK-Inf.Reg. 2 ersetzt.

        Im Dezember 1942 wurde das Regiment in Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment Thule umbenannt.

          Noooooo !!!!!

          That is not right !

          The Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment Thule (Also named as Kradschützenregiment Thule) was a independently Schützenregiment and has nothing to do with the SS-Totenkopf-Infanterie-Regiment 1.


          the info, that SS-Totenkopf-Infanterie-Regiment 1 was renamed in Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment Thule in 12/1942 was a big mistake in the Tessin and in the Mehner.
