    Some help on a few WP issues please

    Sentry training? Not seen this in any of my WP pass before. It maybe a common entry but ive got 30 and not one has Wachmann in the training pages.

    Any ideas?

    From the same Wp i have this piece of paperwork. Is this some kind of punishment notice?

    One other question, if i may, was a marschkompanie an adhoc unit made up of stragglers and remnants of destroyed units or were they made up of soldiers say, for example coming back to the front from leave etc, and grouped into a fighting unit? Or were they something else, im not too clear on this issue

      Wachmann in this case could be training for POW guards. Does the WP list him as being in a Landschutz Btl? The paper is just a note saying they are unaware of any recorded punishment. This happens often with Marschkp. because they are formed to transport men to the front units and they often don't exist long. However, late in the war, they could be thrown into battle as is.

        Thanks for the information. Indeed this soldat was with Lanndschutz Btl 682. As i delve into the WP his wounds must have caused his transfer there after service with IR 89 and GR 376. He was then called to the frontline with 31st VG Division late in the war.

        Thanks again as it made this WP make much more sense now
