Battle entry help (again!)

Hello,

Here is another wehrpass with bad handwritting-can someone help with the translation?this ones not to bad(compared to my last wehrpass I needed help with- 3 pages of battle entries!)I believe he was in action at the Kuban bridgehead were he was KIA-how about the other entries?also i believe the second scan is stateing he was killed at kuban-am i missing any major details?

heres scan #2-also what is abgeschlossen mean(I got "terminated" from a language translator)-its stamped on ever page in this wehrpass that there is an entry.

the entry 'tödlich verunglückt', generally means that this man died in a non-combat related incident, such as an auto accident or the like.

It does say 'tödlich verunglückt' but does it not say "Kopfschuß Infanterie Geschütz" underneath?

A non combat related infantry gun shot to the head!?!?!?!?

Coulñd be an accident cleaning a weapon? Accidental shoot by a sentinel? polite way to say suicide?

Sorry, I used Ian translation and take gun for a rifle not a cannon, but in desesperate situation a cannon shot is more secure than a rifle shot, I know a soldier who is still alive after shooting in his head with a 7.62x51 asault rifle.

Hi all,

couldn't it be "Infanterie Geschoss" instead of "Infanterie Geschütz"? I think Geschoss makes more sense as I think that shooting into someone's head with an artillery shell sounds a bit strange, doesn't it? So, maybe Angel is right with the first two of his explanations...

Sounds more like it Christian....

I had a group some years ago that had a letter to the parents detailing their son's death..."after combat with partisans the unit was returning to the rear in light vehicles....after going over a mound of earth at speed your son's weapon was discharged going through his hand and removing the right side of his head"....

This I thought was a bit revealing I thought for the parents!?!?!?

I can not remember now what the Wehrpaß entry said but I do think I still have a photocopy of it somewhere.....

thanks for the added details guys,that at least makes it a little more interesting(as opposed to getting killed in a car accident!)Ian that letter to the parents about there son removing the right side of his head with a accidental discharge is a bit much!not the kind of letter i would want to recieve about my kid-I would have rather have them tell me he "died in a accident" rather than the details in that case!
