A few days ago, I bought one SS soldbuch.
I have one question. Owner of soldbuch is w/ss man, but soldbuch itself is army issue. Is this correct? Opinion please.

IMHO it's wehrmacht issue. I have a question to. Did they use the word "blutgrup" on the dogtag?

No problem with the soldbuch from what I can see from these images.
He started his service as a wehrmacht soldier that is why he got a wehrmacht soldbuch.
The ss unit he transfered to didn't change it for a ss version, that is quite common and I have seen it before.

The dogtag looks strange, but the questions about ar better answered by a dogtag specialist.

Yes I agree what you say.Soldbuch owner Kurt Kaps started his service at Pol.Bat.84, and transfered to 9/SS Pol.Inf.Rgt.2 in 1942.1.22.
In 1945 5.1, he was SS-R.P.500 gruz??ffse(???).
I can not read words. Can anyone help?

Please put pictures if someone has SS soldbuch that owner started service as wehrmacht soldier.

No problem with WH pattern Soldbuch's being issued to men serving in the Waffen SS.

I have one to a Flak gunner. He did not transfer to the SS either.

Yes i have a WH style soldbuch for a sturmmann in Prinz Eugen Div
Doesnt look like he started in WH either

Hello laurence,

You perfectly can have wehrmacht soldbuchs for ss soldiers, but the ss soldbuchs are a privilege for ss troops.
I have seen several soldbuchs from ss members (ss from the start of there career) that were wehrmacht soldbuchs.
