    Hitler Youth Ausweis

    Hey, I recently picked up a hitler youth ausweis and i am wondering what is bann number is? I know a little german but am still trying to figure it out
    His name is Gorny Joachim and he lives in hamburg. The parts that i am not sure of is it says StraBe, Platz Nr. 150 and also in die hitler-jugend aufgenommen und der Gliederung D.J. FAhnlein 42 zugeteilt worden. What does that mean and does it tell me any thing about his bann number thanks

      Hamburg bann are as follows: Altona 31, Bergedorf 422, Hafen 424, Harburg 417, Mitte 421, Nord 188, Ost 282, Sud 283, Wandsbeck 420, West 76.

      42 is Stralsund in Pommern (Pomerania)

      Cant read German that well other than Strasse is Street.

      It might list Hamburg as the city of birth?????????????

        I believe that hamburg is the city of birth, but i don't know what the D.J. Fahnlein 42 is?

          Hi, it would be helpful to see a scan of the Ausweis. DJ-Fähnlein 42 is the 42nd Fähnlein within one of the Banne, or rather Jungbanne, in Paul's list (Bann 202 MHJ Hamburg was also part of Gebiet 26 Hamburg) but without knowing the boy's address we are stuck. Equally important is the date he joined the DJ as some of the above Banne will not have been in existence if he joined prior to 1937/38.
