    Wehrpass Question

When I look on one of my wehrpasses on page 12,13 the entries goes on till 18.8.1943 after that date he was released because of a bad wound. But when I go to page 32,33 with the fighting entires they stop at 18.11.1942. Why is this?
    Any help would be great.

    Cheers Henry

It maybe he was in hospital between 18.11.42 and his discharge. If i remember correctly the hosptials he was in, or the A.U.E (Discharge Office) he was posted too were recorded in pages 12/13, along with the units he served in.

As he was in hospital and not on active duty it would not be listed where all his fighting entries are entered

I hope this is correct and it helped

Could be as Jonathon has mentioned, or they simply never filled it in!

Sometimes there are not entries at all on these pages as the clerk never got round to doing it....or you might find the entry "further details to follow"...

        Hello,

He was not in hospital. I show some photos. I think Ian is right. I think they never filled it in.

        Thanks

        Henry

The fact he was at Stalingrad makes it more likely the entries just haven't been entered. I think nearly all mine end (or ended) with 18.11.1942 (Angriffschlacht Stalingrad) even when they were wounded in Stalingrad after this date.

He was either wounded and evacuated, on leave or for some reason was outside the pocket when 6. Armee was encircled.

My bet is the latter of the two as he was assigned to GR 580 (306 ID) in December...this was one of the divisions that was transported to the Don area in November in the attempt to stem the Russian advance westwards.
