    LW Soldbuch help please?

Hey guys I would love to know what is written in this gents Soldbuch for my records so I could print it out and put it with my other documents. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ive numbered the pics to make it easier for the translators to put what with what when they respond. TIA and all the best, Jon

Hi Jon, there's a ton of info there, but I'll hit some highlights...

The book was issued when he was an unteroffizier.
Promoted 1. April 42 to Wachtmeister
Promoted 1 May 44 to .....wachtmeister (can't make out 1st part)
    1 Oct 44 to oberfahnrich
then an entry that he became a lieutenant same date...
    Blood type A
Born 10 Sep 1915 in Malbergen, near Osnabrueck
1.75 meter tall (about 5 foot 10 or so), medium build, oval face, dark blond hair, blue eyes.
    No special identifying features
    shoe size 42 (about 10 U.S.)
The book appears to be issued on/about 10 May 1940
Looks like he was awarded the Sudeten Errinerungs Medal and Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2d class.

And now it's time to take the dog for his nightly walk, so gotta end there...

    best
    Hank

Thanks, we had a nice walk.

The note in #9 says he's authorized to use a train/streetcar ticket, at his own expense, due to the fact it's the best way for him to reach his work place.

#6 is issue items, both clothing and kit. 3 different times there, looks like 2 times for being stationed someplace new.

#5 is next of kin...wife Gisela, father Theodor

The rank Hank could not make out is:

              Fahnenjunker Wachtmeister.

I have seen this before somewhere.....bought from estand?

Thank you so much Hank and Ian!

@Ian yes sir, I bought this from member Doug Lynn, it came with a set of mini photos taken by the gentleman in this Soldbuch. Here she is displayed. All the best, Jon
