    WP-Stammrolen/Ranglisten

    Hello friends,

    A question.

In the entrances to the pag. 12-13-14-15 of the Wp is annotated to side of the single unit the number relating to the " Stammrollen Nr.- Ranglisten.Nr."
This number must indicate the number of mens of the single unit ?

In the circumstances this Wp just arrival are annotated two unit with 13494 and 30346 mens?

It is possible to or it is a false annotation

    Thanks.

I'm assuming that each time your guy was transferred to a new unit a new Stammrollen for that unit was drawn up therefore the need for different numbers. That number would be personal to the soldier in question and not inidicating the number of men in a unit.

    regards

The Stamrollen for Fleiger Ersatz Battalions range very high, this was the mans number in the Battalions record books. It had nothing to do with unit strength. The dog tag would usually have his first unit assignment unless it was lost, then it was replaced by one stamped with his current unit (with a different Stammroll nummer). In my experience the high numbered stammrollen are typically from heavy recruiting/ replacement/ training units.

That is right. When soldiers were transferred to other units they got a new Stammrollen number. When you see units having different names in the pass but with the same Stammrollen number (you can see that in most passes) that means that the unit was renamed.
