    WP Sturmgestchutz Brigade

    Hello friends,

    This is a WP of a "Richtunteroffizier"(gunner) of one “Sturmgeschutz Brigade”.
    In reconstructing its history and that one of the units I have some problems:

    I have not found information on: - Nachr.Ers.Batt.112 Villach; - Stab III/A.L.R. (mot.2); -8/A.L.R. (mot.2); -2/Sturmgeschutz. Lehr.Abt. Burg b.M.

    I have found news on these other units; they are the same units?

    Between several notes handwritten I do not understand the unit indicated from the 23.08.41 to 08.11.41 (5. Kp ..... XVIII/II); where this man is been born, its profession from civilian and where he is died in Lapponia on the Baltic Sea.

    You have idea of what are the stamp in red to pag. 5. ?

    What of thoughts in general of the WP.

                Hi ranville,

                some of your questions I will try to answer:

                1) Heinrich Prasser is born in Hohenfeld, today part of the the city of Bad Gams,

                Austria, about 30 km south of Graz

                2) His profession was Verkäufer = salesman, shop assistant

                3) The place where he died was Pastoraf/Lestene, Latvia

                  Hallo ranvile,

                  the entry on page on page 12 could be read:

                  5. Kp. Feld. Ers. Btl. XVIII/II


                  The Wehrkreis XVIII was the Austrian region of Steiermark, Kärnten, Tirol and Salzburg.

                  Graz is the area where he came from. It belongs to Wehrkreis XVIII.
