There was a note in his WP (Wehrpaß-Notiz) dated 29 Apr 1940 that he should immediately go to work to his factory Eduard Wille when the local employment office would sent him there.

His profession war metal engraver and forge - controller. I think his profession was so important during the war that he never had to go under weapons.

Thanks for explaining that. I would have thought Schneidekontrolleur would be a quality-controller for a tailor!

        Hi RUHL13,

picture no 9 shows an interesting document:
An official WP-note that gives order to that guy to go to the company Eduard Wille directly when the local employment office calls him.

His profession was metal engraver and forge controller. I think this was an important job during the war. So he never saw a barrack from inside.

          Thanks Gerdan,
So this not being a military wehrpass, what do you think its worth?
And in your opinion, what did he engrave, forge, or in charge of ?
When I saw Solingen, first thing that came to mind was swords, daggers.

            Hi RUHL13,
the worth of this WP I do not know, sorry. Im not a WP collecter.

In Solingen there were as you know a lot of steel factories and during the war a military system needs all varieties of steelmade things.

The things he produced should have been so important that the government did not want him to be a soldier.

Gary, what you have is definitly a Wehrpass. Imo, value is low as interest among collectors for passbooks are usually for those showing some form of uniformed military service. You never know though. It is always possible maybe someone who collects items related to Solingen might be interested.

To find out what his job was as a forge-controler a possible check with the employees company "Eduard Willie" might turn up something.

              Regards,
              Jerry

Thanks Jerry, figured if not military, really not desirable. But with the other docs. thought it may have a chance.

                  Hi RUHL13,

if you go to google and have a look under "Eduard Wille" you will still finde a hompage of this world wide tool factory which is still working.

                    Thanks Gerdan,
Yes the factory seems like its still running today. Wonder what Hans Kaisers job was, specifically. Something to do with aircraft?
