Beaten up well filled soldbuch with awards - Opinions?

Well I'm just a sucker for all things, non mint I am.

This has to be the worlds worst condition Soldbuch but there is SOOOO much in there I it! Enough to put a deposit.

Entries from 1939 to the end of war and promoted though the lower ranks to Leutnant.

The Gefreiter was posted with a signals unit and has 6 subsequent promotions: Unteroffizier 1939, Wachtmeister 1941, Oberwachtmeister 1942, Fahnenjunker, Oberfähnrich and Leutnant in 1943.

He earned: Iron Cross 2nd class in 1940, War Merit Cross 2nd class with Swords 1943, Iron cross 1st class and General Assault Badge in 1945. There is also a glued-in page listing his assault days that counted for the Assault badge: 4 days in 1944 and one in 1945. At the time he served with Nachrichtenabteilung 17.

Can I have your opinions and is it worth a trade for a silver unmarked PAB + 50 euro?

Bratwurst, I had my eye on that one before it sold! A salty and packed out SB to a front line Signals officer. No problem with the awards entries. Nice.

        FPNr for EKI and Sturmabzeichen.
        (6.4.1944-9.11.1944) 10.11.1944 Stab u. Einheit Infanterie-Divisions-Nachrichten-Abteilung 162.

Served in Italy late in the war. Appears the division during that time was sent to fight partisans in the La Spezia and Tavo Valley areas due to poor combat performance at the front. This guy performed his duties well.

          Sb

          Jeff -

SB look fine as do the entries, to be honest the condition is really not that bad I've seen far worse. The fact that you have his entire career w/awards listed makes it a decent aquisition.

I don't have a clue as to what a PAb badge goes for but being a document collecter myself I can only say that I think you'll get more enjoyment out of this item.

Might want to put in an inquiry into the badge forum for their insight re: pricing.

Yeah, I gotta say I am a sucker for the PABs, I buy them, then I sell them after quickly getting bored soldbuch was going for 190 euro and had been there for more than 6 months so I made the guy an offer.

The only thing about this one is I'll be afraid to open it. Ed, I'll look you up if I am looking to sell

            Thanks all.

Are you kidding? You should see the condition of some of the combat Soldbücher I have in my collection - I'm afraid to touch, never mind open them

Nice book. Have fun deciphering it

I like the entry noting he has his own private handgun.
