                Hi Thomas,

Very interesting! At least 50 tank assaults and only an EK II!!!

If I remember correctly, one that I have got his EK I the same time as his PKA III Stufe!

                Thanks for sharing

                /Ian

Do you have any evidence that the guy on the photo is the same as the one from the sb?
Always a shame those sb with their picture removed!

The seller was a friend from me and he got it from the soldier self , he tell me that this is the person from the Soldbook .It was a second document and so it can be that he removed it after war before he comes in POW Camp

                        Regards Thomas

Sorry to say but I think most collectors would not consider "my friend told its true" as real evidence of authenticity. That story travels only as far as between your friend and the veteran.

But if you are happy with this group it is ok, it only becomes a problem when you want to sell this item.

Why pictures are removed from sb's I think there are as may reasons as there are pictures ript out of sb's.

@Peter First I must say that this soldbook not removed from my collection if is orginal , I see a many soldbooks in the was removed the photo that is not a thing for original or not .A many SS Soldbooks , Panzer , Auschwitz or Paratrooper was removed the photo in or after the war , for the prison and in the POW camps .Is giving the order by SS and paratrooper to removed sides in soldbook that the enemy not know in which regiment he fights .

And I was by old soldier the family has removed the photo before the give up the books , so is this all not a thing from original or not .Normaly I hate Zweitschrift Books but by this awards I want buy it .

Why you think the was not original only for the removed photo ????

                            Regards Thomas

                              Hello Thomas,

Their is a misunderstand, your sb is ok. But how can you proof that the photo you posted is the same guys as the one from the soldbuch???
Naturaly I have seen original sb's with their pictures ript out, but you have to admit that these examples ar far less diserable. For example I have seen with other collectors: sets sb & wp, the wp had the original photo in it, the sb photo was ript out; I can tell you they had a difficult time selling/trading their item! Other collectors should agree with me on that point. I always stay away from sb's with their pictures ript out, how highly decorated or intresting they are, they will always be problematic to sell on or trade in the future! And thats my advise on this subject-matter.

And like I said before if you are happy with your new item thats ok for me!!! Have fun with it, researching his history!
                              Greetings Peter
