I bought it the way it is. Nothing more and nothing less.
Who wrote the other three in the book..... I don't have a clue.

The burden of responsibility lies with you the seller as to the authenticity of the item and it's description.

Perhaps you could relist it for a price you feel is right considering the points brought out in this thread and refering to this discussion so that a potential buyer can make up their own minds?

By the way, i also have a 'vet altered' KM SB. No extra decorations but he'd given himself one hell of a promotion

        You're kidding, right???

This is a discussion forum where we talk about, discuss, compare examine, etc. the items we collect. That’s the one of the main reasons WAF exists. When one of the most experienced and respected paper and ID collectors calls out an item for whatever reason, I think it's safe to say that said item has issues.

The whole bandwagon issue is definitely a unfortunate reality you have to learn to deal with here (and most every other forum) but in this case, I think the people contributing in this particular thread have enough experience and knowledge to speak their own minds, and those who agree with Ian no doubt believe so due to their own judgment, not just because “he said so.”

I had not seen this SB until it was moved to this forum (for the correct reasons by a moderator who has that right.) After taking a look at the awards page it was plainly obvious that the Mine Sweeper award entry is the only "legit" award entry in the book. Regardless of who entered them and when, it really doesn’t matter. They are not official, pre-08.May 1945 award entries (which definitely hurts the value of the book) and so the SB should not be offered for sale as anything other than a KM SB with one M.S. award entry and questionable (post-war added) promotion and award entries.

Whether or not to erase the questionable entries is your own decision. I personally would frown upon it, and I would expect that you make mention of the fact that you erased said entries in your description when you decide to re-sell it.

The fact that you purchased this on another site for half the price and then attempted to dump it here for double the price, as a correct and legit EKI KM Soldbuch doesn't sit well with most people, either. It’s worth about what you paid for it, and to see you relist it here, with dodgy entries, for double the price right after buying it, well... You're entitled to do whatever you want, but what else did you expect?

        Have a great weekend!

If it isn't "wartime", entered by appropriate authority, it isn't original. Or are you just explaining how these entries came to be?

Hank, please read my other postings on the awards, as I wrote: only the Minensuch Abz. to be original !!!!
I was mentioning the postwar blue ballpoint entries as done by the vet, and they have nothing to do with the award entries !!!!

No worries, Eric. I was just unsure if you were "explaining" or "defending".

I know now you were explaining. No harm, no foul. One of the problems with the written word, sometimes it is hard to get a person's true meaning without more explanation!

              Hank,

As a dutchman it is often hard for me to write / or express myself clear in a foreign language: to what I really mean in english, hard to find the proper words, but I am happy now that you understand me, and that you see that I was explaining.

              Have a nice weekend.

                Gotta' love the language barrier!

No worries, Eric-Jan, your English is just fine
