Luftwaffe Wehrpass / Soldbuch of a KC holder

    Hello,

I started collecting documents about 2 years ago but am no expert in this field. Therefore, I would like to ask the community here for help:

I was offered a Wehrpass and a Soldbuch of a KC holder and Luftwaffe pilot recently. Can anybody give me a price range for such documents? The KC award is mentioned in both documents incl. stamp and signature. Unfortunately, I haven’t received good scans yet but apparently the documents are in very good condition except for 2 holes in the Soldbuch (it was stored in a folder by the original owner who passed away a few years ago). It was a bomber pilot. A rough estimate would be fine (lower level if in bad condition and the pilot not that famous, and upper level if in good condition and a famous pilot).

    Thank you!
    Regards
    Roger

    Roger,
In my experience without knoswing the full details would be between 2,000 to 3,000 Euros.

      Roger-

There are so many factors that can go into determining the "value" i.e. exactly who he is/was, his career, when the RK was awarded, if he was KIA or survived the war, other awards, whether or not the SB has a photo of him with the RK in wear, etc.

It's not often that you find both the WP and SB to a RK holder. Providing that both books are completely original and have not been tampered with... I'm going to guess around $5,000+/- for the pair. I'm sure some will say that this is extremely conservative and others will probably say way too much, but without seeing photos or knowing who the guy is, that's my ballpark estimate.

I think 3000 - 4000 euros is a good estimate for both but it would depend on what he was and did...a fighter pilot with kills is going to be a damned sight more than a reconnaissance pilot.

There is a Stuka WP with RK and EL online at the moment. Price for that is 4500 euros.

I guess around €5000 if not special entries are found. As stated combo of Soldbuch/Wehrpass are not common, to a RK less. State is not something to pounder over, a well worn Soldbuch full of entries is better than a replacement without them.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

            KC Soldbuch / Wehrpass

Thank you all of you for the ballpark figures. It is in the range what I had to pay for the Soldbuch and Wehrpass. The following facts about the pilot could even increase the value:

            - he survived the war and participated in the BoB, Russia, Italy, Germany
            - he had more than 200 sorties
            - he flew several sorties with the Me 262 jet fighter

There is also his award certificate for the Frontflugspange in Gold with Anhaenger 200 which he received shortly after the Knight Cross while flying Me 262s. I also own his flight log and Leistungsbuch that contains all his combat missions from 1939 to April 1945.

            Regards
            Roger

I think the price just went up

Hope you can land these. I would be very, very happy to own them.

                Knight Cross

                Hi there,

I just received the group I mentioned in this thread. The Wehrpass is a "Zweitschrift" (does that mean that it is less valuable?) and confirms that he got the knight cross (incl. stamp and signature) and also that he had 5 confirmed victories with the Me 262!! The Soldbuch is an early type and was issued 1940 and covers 1940 - 1945.

In addition, there were all his 1957 awards (DKiG, pilot clasp, Frontflugspange with Anhaenger 300, EKI, KC, ribbons, etc.) but also the, what seems to me, original knight cross. I attach some photos. It is market "900". What's your opinion? It came with the case. But again, I don't know if it is the original case or if it belonged to the 1957 cross, but it looks original to me. The group came directly from the family so I don't see why he should have kept a fake knight cross if he already had the 1957 issue.

                Regards
                Roger

                    KC group

                    Roger,

Any chance of seeing the documents/Wehrpas?

Appears to be a nice group.

                    Regards

                    Jeremy

                      2 Pages

                      Hi Jeremy,

I attach two pages of the Wehrpass that show the confirmation of his aerial victories (with KG51 while flying the Me 262!) and one with the Ritterkreuz entry.

                      Regards

                          Hello Roger,
Wow! Very nice grouping indeed. I would be very interested in seeing some pages from the soldbuch.
                          Thank you,
                          Curtiss

                            KC urkunde

                            Nice Wehrpas entries Roger,

Really like seeing the victories listed these are not always listed in the WP and more scarce when specific to AC type.

I would second the motion for seeing more images of the group. Also is it possible to mention who our mystery man is??? I looked through the KG51 unit history (Wolfgang Dierich) but there is no listing for a RK with that date and/or rank.

Look forward to seeing more, very nice.

                            Jeremy

I, too, would be interested in the gentleman's name. I have a great deal of information on Luftwaffen-Ritterkreuzträger and would be able to check some of these details.
