The first medical diagnosis ist "Oberfl. (******228;chige) Hornhautentz******252;ndung =
it's a "inflammation on the surface of the horny skin/cornea"

          I think so, Chris.

It is very difficul to read the second desease. It seems to be a typical medícal expression.

I think the second one is Bauchschuss - shot in the stomach!

31a is wounds as a result of bullets.

Well he was in the town Hospital at Orel and War hospital 4/609, however the latter I can only find the location in 1944....

I doubt he was wounded whilst with IEB 316!

Section B is his replacement units that he served with.

Section D his current responsible replacement unit for his field unit (section C).

                            Could be....

From what I just posted, you can see that I. Bataillon, Inf.Rgt. 246 had replacements from IEB 316.

The Kriegsstammrollennummer (Personal roster number) ends with 41 which is a good indication that he joined that unit in 1941.

What you should do is write out a time line ie. take the dates and units and put them in number order....that way you can get a picture of where he was when!

Problem with Heer and SS Soldb******252;cher, there is no dates of transfer to and from a unit, unlike Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine!

                            /Ian

Where would the best place to research where 246 were?
