          His unit was Backreikompanie (mot) 178
          From 11.8.1940 till 3.11.1943
          Was this unit related to the 78 Sturm-division?

            Yes....so was Sturm Rgt. 14

              Lussbaum?? I tried all the other letters of the alphabet, but "L" seems to fit the handwriting best. Bussbaum might also fit ... It could look like a "B" if I squinted my eyes. No Google hits using a "P"; though I did get a couple of hits for "T".

                    He was with Gren.Rgt. 1087 at the time which was part of 554 Inf.Div....http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...onen/545GD.htm

                    I tried looking under the Armme and Korps but no info is available on this site for those entries commonly found in Wehrpässe for combat!
