Geschwader = more or less like a RAF wing.

Bordfunker = flying radio operator and tail gunner of a Stuka.

A Geschwader consisted of a Geschwaderstab (HQ, HQ staff and 3 or 4 aircraft) and 3 or 4 Gruppen of some 30 aircraft each on average. This total of 90 to 120 aircraft roughly equated to an RAF Wing or to two (2) World War II USAAF groups. The German word "Geschwader" is rarely ever translated in English language works because it has no direct comparison in English.
