    Hello everybody,
I have done my homework.Maybe I should have started this thread in the Individual Research Forum.I am sorry.Anyway,I read somewhere that exists a German Military war graves registry called Wast or something like that, the guy could not remember for sure.
Another thread mentioned some SS files in Berlim or USA that may have some info related to Kz guards.
I would be very happy if someone could help in my research.
    Best Regards,
    Mat

          Hi Mat,

From the pages you show us here on WAF I can say that you have an original KZ Wehrpaß.

Not one of those men, that were later in the war transferred from other branches to the SS to become a KZ guard, but a real Totenkopf man from the beginning till the end.

Is it possible to show some more entries please.

Was he wounded in the East and for that reason transferred to KZ duties, or was it his age and did he served enough time as an active front soldier ?
Something I can not make out from the pages you show us here now.

For someone interested in KZ history, that Wehrpaß is a real keeper.

          yours friendly

No problems / issues with this one....from what is shown so far, it is an original and unaltered KL Wehrpass.

              Hi Mat,

I see that you did have a NARA question.

The copies of your man's personal files seems to be coming from there, as Ian mentioned earlier.

Don't know if they have any further information for your man in their archive.

Have a look at their site http://www.archives.gov/

                    Hello Mat.

                    Nice item you've got there.

Its interesting seeing that your man was a participant in the early stages of the so called Lapland war (1941-44), and that he took part in the Salla-fighting as a member of the Kampgruppe Nord - later 6. SS-Gebirgs-Division "Nord". I've interviewed a member of the same regiment as your man, and he told me that they almost got wiped out at Salla, and that this was really their baptism of fire.

Here's some info on the "Lapland war" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapland_War, and some info on Kampfgruppe Nord and the fighting at Salla 1941 http://sturmvogel.orbat.com/nord-salla.html and http://stosstruppen39-45.tripod.com/id5.html

                    Atttached map from http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salla

                      Hello A.H. Thomassen
                      That is really very amazing!
I wonder why after seeing so much action on the battlefield,he only worked as a kz guard the rest of the war
Thanks a lot for the info
                      Best Regards

                        Hi Mat,

From the extra pages you show us here, I see no wounds / hospital entries, no wound badge, among them so I assume there there aren't such entries in your Wehrpaß, so he wasn't transferred to the KZ because of that.

Born 1902, and after some front experience, due to his age - he was transferred to the KZ.

Hope this helps to answer your question.

                          Hi Eric -Jam

Thanks again for this additional info.
I think you are correct about the kz duties ,due to his age
