SS wrist tag. Real?

A friend of mine asked me to post some pics of this ID wrist tag and see if it was real or not. Don't collect them myself so don't know anything about them. Any help apreciated.

Thanks guys. I told the bloke I had my doughts, even though I know nothing about these items, based on the fact that the disk was painted black after the number was stamped into it. Come to think of it, the fact it was painted at all is enough.
