    My Wehrpass

I'm a novice at collecting German ID papers, and just got this Wehrpass. There is nothing on it after page 5, and I wonder why.

Please inform me if you know, and maybe tell me a bit about what's in this document ?

Hey, the Wehrpass was just an initial entry to training book. After they went into basic training they got what's titled a 'soldbuch' that continued on...

The Wehrpas was the basic personal record of the members of the German Armed Forces including their service record. It contains a complete record of their pre-military service in the German Labor Service (Reichsarbeitsdeinst), their military status at all times, and all their military activities until the expiration of their liability to military service. This book is in their personal possession only while they are in inactive status, and is retained at their company headquarters as long as they are on active status, and is retained at their company headquarters as long as they are on active status. In exchange for it as soldiers, they carry on their person a pay and identification book, the Soldbuch.

The unit information would have been identical with the Soldbuch since they were both kept current until a soldier was discharged form service (or killed). Certainly a big differance between the two forms of indentification was the fact that the Wehrpas noted near the back a listing of where the soldier served, east front, west front etc.. The level of detail varied depending on the various clerks filling out the books.

Not certain about the lack of entries after page 5 perhaps incomplete. Someone else may be able to shed light.

I see that his trade was a Lokomotive F******252;hrer and perhaps he was invaluable in that and did not commence any formal military training.
Page 5 indicates that he was a conscript (Dienstpflichtiger) and fit for actvie duty (k.v. - Kriegsverwendungsf******228;hig) with Ersatz Reserve I (untrained Soldier under 35 years old) on 26.4.1940.
