What unit was he with prior to Pz.Gren.Rgt. 394?

I see he was with a Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung also so did he come from front line Artillery unit?

Also can you show a larger image of the photo? The stamp appears to be out on the top left but ok on the bottom right?!?!?

Ian i have close ups of that soldbuch and the stamp on the top left is all inside the cover and just a bit faintly visible.the wrapper look a black panzer one to me and it appears the pic has always been there

Can't make that out apart from the 175......is this unit in the Soldbuch....certainly looks like it has been there for a while with the rusty staple mark, however it is off set!?!?!
