Interesting vehicle registration document!!!

Here's an interesting Kraftfahrzeugschein - Vehicle Registraction document.
Initially it looks like a typical document similar to a driving license.....not very interesting......

However I noticed it was issued by FP Nr. 47600 - Oberquartiermeister Abteilung Deutsch-Italienisch Panzer-Armee.....

Could be interesting I thought....particularly with this unit being in Africa.

At the time I could not really make out the other units....

Looking inside I noticed the above FP Nr. along with another FP Nr. 39496 - Deutscher Verbindungsoffizier beim italienischen Oberkommando in Afrika.

I thought it was probably worth having.......

Now that I have received it is better than expected.....

The unit that this vehicle belonged to was FP Nr. 41271 - 3 Sch******252;tzen Kompanie Verband 288, renamed 3 Kompanie, Panzergrenadier Regiment Afrika.

This was a Beute Kfz. - captured vehicle.....a Ford le. Lkw. - leicht Lstkraftwagen - light lorry with the former owner being the Engl. Wehrmacht........English Armed Forces!!!!!

It received the Wehrmacht designation WH 1329 233.

Not a bad document in the end I wonder where it was captured?

Could it be captured at the time of the raid on Dieppe?, that was in august of that year, 1942, or of course Tunis what is most likely.

No, it would have been captured in Africa, Egypt or Libya most likely.

You are right Simon, I was to quick with my replay, that’s way I and the Tunis possibility in the end of my reaction.
<OAfter reading the whole thread more carefully, it must be Afrika and not some where in Europe, because it would end make sense to capture a vehicle in Europe and then send it to Afrika.<O</O

Not yet Simon, been to busy shopping and catching up with things as I am never at home!
It would be interesting to see it in a book....also what unit had belonged to before being captured!!!
