    Thanks for the helpful comments

Thanks, gentlemen, for the helpuf comments. Perhaps the cover/photo belongs to another soldbuch all together? If I were to offer this on estand for sale/trade, what would be fair value given its condition and the questions regarding the cover/photo?

I find the thought that the cover and photo should have belonged to another Soldbuch hard to belive

It would be a strange coincident if you had a loose cover with photo and Soldbuch without cover and they both had the same name

I think it was a original Soldbuch estroyed by some jerk by putting in the photo.

Regarding price, less than 100 US$, you would have to sell it for the price of a original Soldbuch without a cover

        further entry questions

Thanks for your time and patience with my many questions!

So, just to understand, the signature under the photo in the inside cover is in sutterlin script, is a match to the name SS pioneer Heinrich Stadler, but in your opinion it and the photo were added?

Also, as to the unit and the couple stamps "Stammkompanie z.b.V Hamburg-Langenhorn," AJ believes it could be some kind of subunit of the Germania Regiment or maybe an independent unit of the local Police force..any one have any idea?

Finally, what do these stamp entries refer to?

At the end of the day the scans are not good enough to determin what unit the stamps say....

I will defer to AJ's and Ian's views on the photo, however I think a value of $100 is a little low even for a doctored book, in £sterling this is about £60 I personally do not believe you can get an SS SB for that price (whatever its condition) inthe UK. I would be inclined to say $175-200 this is a little over £100 sterling still a good price in UK terms, bearing in mind a pass book ss photo can set you back £5-10 on its own.

                    cheers

                      Thanks, Gentlemen!

I apologize for the poor pics; I'll post better pics as soon I can, but in the meantime, thanks for the kind comments. I bought the soldbuch from a fellow forum member a while back for what I initially thought was a bargain but I'm learning more and hope to trade up on one without possible alteration .
