    arrival dates ?

Hello, this has me confused a little.
I cant understand when the guy arrive in Afrika. It seems to mention two arrival dates ? - one for Tripoli and one for Tunis ?

    Thanks for any clarification.

It's two differnt handwritttings with the Tripoli entry and the word Tunis being the same. The 1943 date appears to be the official entry and the other an add on. If the Tripoli/Tunis entry were official, they should have stricken out the incorrect date or visa versa. I have never seen a double date without one being stricken through.

yes it is a really odd one.
      I still cant figure it.

Obviously he was at Tripoli and then Tunis, perhaps it refers to two arrival dates. Maybe he left Afrika and then returned ?

Interesting entry....I have examples of guys arriving in Tunisia and many examples arriving in Africa but I have never seen an entry showing an arrival in Tripolis (or at least can not remember)!!!

I will have a dig around and see what I have.

I would say it is an unofficial entry and/or an error on behalf of the clerk. Mind you at that time 90 lei.Afrika Div. was in Libya and in January 1943 in Tunisia so it could well be something common to that Division!?!? Not sure how many documents I have to elements of that Division.
