13th June 1944 hospital entry, and it appears he was with Hitler Jugend Division, so that makes him Normandy.
Should be easy to track down the location of Kriegs lazarett mot 604 on 13-6-44 to confirm.

Very rare even to see half decent SS soldbuch for sale these days.
Big demand for HJ soldbuchs, especially with evidence of Normandy service

    very nice book.

        Hi
Nice Soldbuch, IMO its original all way through.
Though a decent Soldbuch, there are no evidence, that he was wounded at Nomandy. Yes there are entry from the Kriegslazarett 604, but medical code, so he could as well have been sick and not wounded??

Regarding the price I must say, that for 800 US$ I would exspect more from an Soldbuch, this youn fellow only makes it to Sturmmann and was even awarded the woundbadge. having seen what Soldbuch in this class goes for at the forum I would see 400-450 US$ maximum.

But a nice original Soldbuch 'IMO

A very nice clean original Waffen-SS Soldbuch from a meber of SS-PZ.Gren.Rgt.25 from the 12.SS-Pz.Div. "Hitlerjugend", with a nice picture from the owner in uniform.
The wound he got can't be that bad, it seem afther threatment he went back to his unit and did not stayed in the fieldhospital..

            price

I disagree with the price estimate of 400-450 US.

If this sold for $400 US the owner would indeed be getting a bargain.

$400 is far too cheap. It would be snapped up withing seconds if sold for that price.

              Hello phil1942

Your price-estimate seem to be correct. I have consulted a close friend of mine in TR collecting, and he valued it to around 700-800$ aswell.
Thank you, once again. I think I will hold on to this one for a while...it is a beauty

                SS Soldbuch enquirey

Hi lads, nice soldbuch you have there, I purchased one also a long time ago and always had my doubts it was an orignal piece, but looking at this example I'm more under the impression that it may be original. Although a replacement the eagle ink stamps reflect the ones shown in the other scans and it looks like I could be onto a winner as the guy earned a shedload of awards. Would you be so kind as to send me your email address so I can send scans to be posted on this forum please. Regards Paul (wehrpasswilly)

Very nice soldbuch .I would agree and say $800/1000.00 price range.Clean stamps indicating at the time of the invasion he was w/ stab III Pz gren.regt25 (9-12 kp.) commanded by Obersturmbannfuhrer Millius.
Anybody's guess as to what happened to him 13/6/44.Interesting in that the next day the commander SS Oberfuhrer Fritz Witt was killed by naval gun fire.Could be a bad case of nerves. Cheers Steve

                      Thank you

Once again. Thank you to all the people who have helped me with info and estimated value. This Soldbuch is one of the "jewels" in my limited collection.

The funny thing is, that I didnt know much of this when I bought it. Through a danish auction, which just said "SS-Soldbuch with lots of writing in it"
I got scans of the front, and the first 2 pages...

yes, you are a lucky dude.
The danish auction guys obviously had no idea.

Love to hear stories like your one. So lucky !!!

Porta18: seen the pics of your Soldbuch. Very impressive! I havent seen one from the 12th so far!

A friend of mine is into reenactment in the UK. He portrays a soldier of the 12th. I am wondering, could you post a scan of page 2 of the Soldbuch?

It would be interesting for my friend because he wants to fill in his own Soldbuch and needs some info about the kind of Stamps and Name of the Dienststelle on page 2.

                          cheers

Browsed through my old posts, and I found this thread

How rare are these soldbuch's nowadays? I've been away from collecting for years...
