    KM Dogtag - very strange...

Sirs, can you tell please about the next tag - is it KM or something another?
And I am sorry for quality of photo, it was made by phone.

    Thank you in advance!

It does appear to be a Kriegsmarine-type disc Max, but I'm not familiar with the markings... it simply reads 'S.N. 101'?

      Hi Matt!
This tag is really has KM form, but you are right – there is only S.N. 101 superscribe on the tag

      Serial Number?

'Serial Number' is what immediately comes to mind, yes, but of course that's not German... I don't know what it could be.

Possibly for Stammdivision der Nordsee man nummer 101, possibly that is why the number is so low and not very Kreigsmarine-like.

Do you have any information of this Division?
            Thank you in advance!

              Seekommandant Nordgriechenland
              Seekommandant Nordholland
              Seekommandant Nordjütland
              Seekommandant Normandie

Have you seen this type of disc before and know this to be the case or is it just a possibility?

Just a possibility. I gladly welcome any ideas for or against! It is a very interesting/unusual tag. Upon further reflection, there is also the chance that it could stand for Schiff Nummer 101 or Ship 101, which there was a minesweeper numbered M-101. U-101 is a possibility however it doesn't seem likely since would seem they would have preceded the number with a U. I'm sure there are probably other ships with this designation. (I am no Kreigsmarine expert. I just like and study EM's.) This also begs the question, if this was the case and it was the ship number, where is the man number? and what purpose could this disk have served without one? I am aware that unnumbered Heer/SS/Lw. Disks exist, but I've never personally encountered an unnumbered (but pre-imprinted) KM disk.
