Looking for Soldbuch to Helmut Eckoldt JG52

I am in possession of a Wehrpass to Leutnant Helmut Eckoldt, a 6 victory ace, who served with 4/JG52 in the summer of 1941. I am trying to find out if his Soldbuch has survived. Does anyone on this Forum have any information?
    Thank-you for your time,
    Andy

    Andy,

It is possible that Eckoldt's SB is floating about, one possibility is that it is in the possesion of the Duetsches Dienstelle. Did Eckoldt survive the war?

    Regards

      Eckoldt's Soldbuch

      Jeremy,
Thank-you for your reply. Eckoldt was KIA on 14 August 1941 after combat with 8 DB3s and 4 Il2s. He scored very quickly on the Eastern Front, like many did, but was killed after only about three monhts service at the front. I have thought that the Soldbuch may still be in the Deutsche Dienstelle but I thought I would try the collecting fraternity.Quite often these groups are split and the Soldbuch and Wehrpass go there own way.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
      Best regards,
      Andy

        Hi Andy,

I have a few SB/WP to pilots with similar scenarios where they run up a quick score only to be KIA shortly thereafter. To your point about groups i.e. WP/SB being split up I agree, a few years back 7+ quite a few pilot SB/WP came on the market and unfortunatlely many went in seperate directions. Unfortunately I don't recall your gent being one of those, will keep an eye open if it happens to cross my path.

        Cheers

        Jeremy

Upon his death the soldbuch should have gone back to the authorities. My advice is to write to Wast and say you are a relative - great nephew or something. In my experience you are far more likely to get information that way rather than saying it is just for research.
