one piece EK1 with spange help

    Hi
I have searched around but cannot find any info. I think my problem is sometimes I do not really know what key words to use to trigger the correct results. I would therefore appreciate your input on this cross currently up for auction. these are the best pics I can get from the seller
    Thanks
    andy

Looks like a Eastern European fake IMO

Does anyone have an image of a genuine example of this, as all I've ever seen are fakes.

Many thanks for your help. As a matter of interest, this cross is currently at £180 plus with over a day to go on the auction. I hope no one here is bidding on it.
                Thanks again
                Andy

I have been searching for one of these for quite a while Andy - I'm afraid there is really no guarantee when the two componants (cross and spange) were soldered together... so it's an item best treated with some caution.

Apart from the L/18 cased sets (that appear to be the Holy Grail) - the closest I have come to something that looks vaguely convincing, is the piece below from one of our sponsors.... the two componants at least appear original...but I'm afraid never, ever, in a MILLION years would I pay such an INSANE price.

This piece is IMO US$1000.00 over market price.... and even then, your taking a punt on period soldering....

                    Marshall,

I took a look at Brocks site .. looks to be some good stuff there. Any history on his reputation etc?

Sorry Darrell, no, I don't know anything about them, other than that they are site sponsors.

I once read that you should not pay more for such a combination, then the pieces would cost separately. And that was because you could never know when they were solder together.

Unless there were some wery good provenance.

                        Best regards,

                        Flemming
