      Hello all,

So after looking at the photos, what does that mean for my cross that I posted? Please let me know either way. Thank you.

          Jon,

Thanks for looking at that one for me. Now, I know you have quite the handful of these things, so let me ask you, what can you tell about my cross from the photos. I know it is well worn, but does it look dug or repainted? Please let me know either way. Thank you.

Hi William, I'm far from an expert but IMO I'd say it has probably been stored somewhere damp, the iron gone a little rusty, then cleaned up a bit. The frame looks OK and unmessed with, I'd say it's just had a strong scrub to remove rust. I do prefer these crosses with a little character and wear, and your one looks like a great old soldier to me!
            regards

                    thanks

                    Jon,

Have run across several in my brief collecting period (broke college kid, remember?) and I always kept this one and sold the others, simply becaue it was really worn and I think that is cool as well. Check out how the ribbbon is cut, somebody had the tunic ribbon.

yeah, that ribbon's a cool addition.
You're like me, I find a few, but usually only hang on to the beaten up rusty unmarked ones! Many would disagree, but I find them charming. They have stories to tell themselves, they've been through as much action as the recipiants!
